Show Guidelines by Destiny Bearden
Your rabbit will be judged against rabbits of the same breed, age and color (variety). Judges use the ARBA Standard of Perfection. Each part of your rabbit is worth certain points with the total points adding to 100. Each rabbit is judged by comparison to the others in the same class and the judge tries to find the one that fit’s the closest to its standard. You are expected to be a good sport. This includes putting your rabbit on the table and standing back so the judge will not know which rabbit is yours. Listen carefully in case the judge has a question or something to say about your rabbit. Do not speak aloud or criticize a judge’s opinion. Remember that everyone thinks they have the best rabbit but there can only be one winner and the judge’s decision is final. And always remember that no matter who wins that everyone has worked hard, so be respectful of their hard work. Here is a list of the most common disqualifications that I know of: unhealthy appearance, ears too long, toenails or eyes not matching required colors, dewlap, missing toenails, broken toes, bad teeth, broke tail, under or over weight limits, excessive scattered whites on a solid colored rabbit, vent disease and snuffles. You can watch for these things when you do your daily rabbit health check.
